Sandile supports the integration of climate academic evidence and expertise into policy making and advocacy. She organises and delivers Cambridge Zero activities to help deliver the institutions overall policy strategy.
Sandile holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge where she studied and developed materials for clean energy (hydrogen) conversion and gas (carbon) storage. She is an alumna of the 2024 Leadership Masterclass in Policy and International Affairs, delivered by the Queen Elizabeth Academy for Leadership and the Next Generation at Chatham House.
She previously worked at the Centre for Global Equality on the Climate Compatible Growth Programme where she managed partnerships to support investment in energy and clean mobility infrastructure in Kenya. Before this, she was a Policy Advisor at Hydrogen UK, where she led the DESNZ commissioned report on the UK’s Hydrogen Supply Chain Strategic Assessment (Phase II-Demand) and also a Research Analyst at Gemserv (now Talan) where she contributed to low carbon technology consultancy projects including supporting the development of a net zero aligned Engineering & Manufacturing Strategy for the Isle of Man Government.
