Cambridge Zero congratulates King Charles III on Coronation

Cambridge Zero congratulates King Charles III on the occasion of His Majesty’s Coronation and is delighted by the launch of the new King Charles III Professorship – funded by Trinity College in recognition of His Majesty’s lifelong interest in the environment.

The new role will provide a focus point for leadership in the field of sustainability, and build on the University’s world-leading research and education.

Trinity wild crown

Cambridge Zero Director Professor Emily Shuckburgh is one of the world’s leading climate scientists and has dedicated her career to seeking the evidence of and finding solutions to climate change. She has just co-authored a new children’s book on climate change with His Majesty and Natural England Chair Tony Juniper - A Ladybird Book: Climate Change. The book was written when His Majesty was still The Prince of Wales.

As well as co-authors, His Majesty and Professor Shuckburgh are both Trinity alumni.

“As a scientist who has studied the climate from pole-to-pole, and as a parent with two young daughters, I believe there is no more important issue to inform and educate young people about,” Professor Shuckburgh said.
