Our first infographic features Sander Van Der Linden's (Department of Psychology) research on climate-related misinformation. Misinformation is false, with the intention to deceive being ambiguous. Sander finds a significant gap between the size of the scientific consensus on human-drive climate change and the public's perception of it. This infographic explains some of the reasons for this gap, and ways to prevent misinformation from having a negative impact on public perception! Sander focuses on preventative methods - making users aware of what misinformation looks like, to better immunise them against its effect
